Hike of the Month

“Hiking and happiness go hand in hand (or foot in boot).”
–Diane Spicer
Hiking has been an essential part of Boy Scouts since the program’s inception. It provides boys with the opportunity to practice many of their essential Scouting Skills – from Backpacking and Orienteering, to Communication and First Aid.
Troop 22’s Hike of the Month provides our Scouts with a great opportunity to challenge themselves while growing their appreciation of the outdoors. A typical hike covers approximately 10 miles of easy to moderately challenging trails, and usually lasts from 7:30am through 5:00pm. Some recent hikes have included sections of the Appalachian Trail, Palisades Interstate Park, Ramapo State Forest, Sandy Hook, and even New York City!
